Isabella M Butler

Isabella Butler, age 79, of Oak Ridge, NJ, formerly of Bloomingdale, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Isabella was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of the late George and the late Isabella (Cowan) McIndoe. Isabella arrived in America from Glasgow in 1947 and lived in Passaic, NJ, before settling in West Milford, NJ. Isabella became an American citizen in 1960.

Isabella graduated from Butler High School in Butler, NJ in 1962. Following graduation, Isabella worked as a secretary at Bell Labs in Whippany, NJ. In 1998 she began working as a secretary at the Butler United Methodist Church, where she was a staple in church until her retirement in 2021.

Isabella was married to the late David Butler, and the two raised their family in Bloomingdale, NJ for many years before moving to Oak Ridge, NJ, to be closer to their grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Butler) Yuhas and husband Joseph, Lynn (Butler) Cotton and husband Joseph, and Greg Butler and wife Ashley. Isabella is also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren, Kelsey, Alexis, Tyler, Owen, Abbey, Macie, Michaela, and Maxwell. Isabella is also survived by her sisters Gina, Dorothy, and Margaret, brother David and wife Susan. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Shirley (Butler) King and husband Travis, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Viewing hours will be Friday, February 2nd, 2024, from 4-7 pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:00 am at The Butler United Methodist Church, Butler, NJ. Burial will follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
