Jacquelin (Whritenour) Bausch July 29, 1925-April 9, 2022 Jacquelin (Jackie) was born and raised in Butler NJ, living there most of her life before moving to the Cedar Crest Community in Pompton Plains in 2016. She was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Butler and the Secretary and past Vice President of the churchs Rosary Alter Society. She was a member of the Butler XYZ Club, the Butler Book Club and the Butler Senior Advisory Committee. After graduating from Butler High School in 1943 she went right to work as an operator for the phone company (1943-45), then as a civil service clerk/typist for the Amy Air Corp (1945-47), an administrative specialist for the Pequannock Rubber Mill in Butler (1947-1953), Executive Secretary at Amerace Corp for 35 years and finally as an administrative assistant for the Biosupport Material group of FMC Corp., Pinebrook, retiring in 1994. She also operated a small furniture, card and gift shop in Towaco and Lincoln Park in the early 70s. Modest, practical, loving, with a heart of gold, a sweet tooth, and a hearty appetite (which was always on display at many family gatherings and dinners). Her wit, laughter and sense of humor was amazing. She had a passion for the Theater, both on Broadway and the Paper Mill Playhouse; loved the movies; enjoyed a parade, listening to and appreciating the marching bands; was an avid reader, cross word puzzle whiz and a big-time bowler. Jackie enjoyed swimming and shopping, and closely followed the ups and downs of the New York Yankees. She loved poetry and could recite "Casey at the bat" whenever asked. She took many trips with her lifelong friends Joan and Roberta to see and enjoy the wonderful and exciting sites around the country and abroad. Over the years she would enjoy and look forward to the many outings with her then young nephews (and later their children) to circuses and fairs, shows and movies, parks and shopping trips. The day would not be complete without a hot dog or two "all the way" at the Old Maple Snack Bar now McCobbs restaurant, or a lunch or dinner at the Pompton Queen or Butler Diner. Many special memories and good times were forged by her and all of which centered around the special and committed relationships she had with her parents, her brother and his wife, and each of her nephews and their families. Over the last decade and more, a very special relationship with her niece-in-law, Lori, whom her husband and brothers-in-law greatly thank for her patience, tenderness, time and loving care she gave to Jackie. Jackie was a woman whose compassion for family, love of life and faith in God was her bond. She is truly missed. Jackie was predeceased by her husband James W. Bausch, her parents Robert J, Sr. and Susan (Roach) Whritenour, her brother Robert Jr., and niece-in-law Kim Whritenour. Jackie is survived by her sister-in-law, Theresa Whritenour, and her nephews. Jackie was a deeply caring and loved Aunt to: Bobby, Larry, Jim, Joe, John, Mike, Frank and Dave, their wives, her 23 grandnieces and grandnephews, and one great-grandnephew. She now rests safely, peacefully and with a smile, in the hands of our Lord after 96 years of a life well lived. The family would like to acknowledge the efforts and care provided by the staff of Hospice of New Jersey, and at Cedar Crest, Maria and Vee, and her care giver Ellie, from 2018-2020.
