James A Shauger

Obituary James A. Shauger, 88 of Bloomingdale, NJ passed away peacefully among family January 30, 2022. Jim was born in Bloomingdale to the late John and Georgiana (Wyble) Shauger and was a lifelong resident of Bloomingdale. He was an U.S. Marine veteran serving in the Korean War, a member of the Butler Fire Department Bartholdi Hose Company, and the Knights of Columbus 943. Jim was secretary for the Butler Board of Education from 1962-1964 and president of the Inter Boro Bowling League. He was the first bat boy for the "Bloomingdale Troopers" and later a little league coach. Jim was a diehard Yankees fan. He retired from a career as District Accounting Manager at NJ Bell. Jim was the "salt of the earth," a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and true friend. He was an honorable, caring man of true character. Jim is survived by his loving children, Christopher Shauger, Karen Lisa and partner Ray Keyes, and Michael Shauger, adored grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Katherine, Jake and Lainey. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Marilyn. Visitation will be held Thursday February 3, 2022, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be offered Friday, February 4, 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Christ the King Cemetery Franklin Lakes, NJ. .
