James C. Ackerman

James C. Ackerman, age 88, of Butler, Passed away Monday, October 2, 2023.

Mr. Ackerman was born May 9, 1935, in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late James and the late Helen (Keryger) Ackerman.

He served in the Army during the Korean war and was a biology teacher at Kinnelon High School for many years. James was predeceased by his mother, Helen and brother Richard. James loved to hunt and fly-fish and had a passion for woodworking and training his dogs.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday October 12, 2023, from 11am to 1pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home Inc., 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J. A funeral will be held Thursday 1:00pm also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
