James J. Hanrahan, Jr., age 89, passed away peacefully on August 28th, 2020. He was a resident of Kinnelon and was born in Jersey City, the son of the late James Michael Sr. and Mila Jane (nee Parks) Hanrahan. Beloved husband of 63 years to Margaret (nee Roth) Hanrahan. Devoted father to Kathy and Margo, who predeceased his death in 2016. Dear brother of Mila and her husband Bruce Fick. James proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired, after 35 years, from Verizon as a service technician. James was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 943 and had a passion for landscaping and furniture building. James loved spending time with his family and friends in his house he so lovingly built. He was always with a smile, a helping hand and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be offered Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 11AM at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Burial will follow the service in the cemetery.
