James Meechan

Obituary James Meechan, 88 years old, of Teaneck passed away on December 7, 2021, at Morristown Hospital. Jimmy was born and raised in Scotland, he immigrated to the United States in the early 1950s. Jimmy was drafted into the U. S. Army where he served 2 years, most of it in Alaska. He lived most of his life in Teaneck NJ. and was married to the late Mary (Auld) Meechan (2015) for 52 years. Jimmy worked in the US Postal Service where he retired 23 years ago. Beloved father of Michael and his wife Joyce, late daughter Kaye (2017), daughter Janice and her husband Victor, Jim and his wife Kim and the late Joseph (2011) and his wife Victoria. His brothers, the late Patrick, late Johnny, and his sister Ella. Grandfather to Daniel, Scott, late Liam (2021), Michael Tyler, Drew, Shannon and Zachary and great grandfather of Mia, Ava, Dalton, Angelina, Katie and Ryan. Pre-deceased by his parents James and Mary (Devine) Meechan. Friends and family are invited for visitation on December 9, 2021, from 9-11am at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler NJ 07405. A funeral service will be offered 11am on Thursday also at the funeral home. Graveside will follow immediately after the service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ.
