James R. Heeney

James R. Heeney, age 79, of Kinnelon, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Heeney was born in Lehighton, PA the son of the late James D. and the late Anna (Cunningham) Heeney. He proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and in later years was a member of the Marine Corps League. He was a teacher and later department supervisor at Kinnelon High School for over 25 years. Mr. Heeney was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church, serving in such capacities as: youth advisor, lector, CCD teacher and eucharistic minister. He was a member of the 14493 chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 loving years, Helen C. (Culleton) Heeney, his beloved son, James T. and daughter in-law, Niki, his dear sisters and brothers- in-law, Honore Fontes and husband William, Thomas Culleton and wife Elizabeth and Sheila Faline and husband Francis and many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be Thursday, April 5th, 2012, from 3:00 - 5:00pm and from 7:00 to 9:00pm in the Ryan Room at Our Lady Of Magnificat Church, 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ. A Blessing Ceremony will be held Friday 11:00am also at Our Lady Of Magnificat RC Church, Kinnelon. Burial will follow at Our Lady Of Magnificat Cemetery, also in Kinnelon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 811 West Evergreen Avenue, Suite 204, Chicago, IL, 60642, in his memory.
