ROGERS- James V., age 59, of Vernon, NJ, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 25th, 2008. James was born in Paterson, NJ. He lived in Bloomingdale, and was a graduate of Butler High School. He served in the National Guard in the 1970's. James received both his undergraduate degree and his MBA from Rutgers University. He was an engineer for ten years with the New Jersey Department of Transportation. He formed the JR Consulting Group, and was one of Vernon's Town Engineers. James also worked for Suburban Engineers, CV Associates, and Haks Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors. He was currently self-employed with a P.E. license in both New York and Pennsylvania. James constructed his own home and loved being with his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Kathleen M. (Matthews) a second grade teacher of Vernon Township, his adoring parents Stanley and Betty Rogers, beloved children, Chelsea Rogers (24), Lindsey Rogers (22), Kortney Rogers (19), his loving brother and sister Jay Rogers, and Janet Ryans and husband John, dear mother-in-law Ann Matthews, and brother-in-law Bill Matthews and wife Donna. James is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Dan Barry, Tom and Carrie Ryans, and Samantha and Tyler Matthews. He was predeceased in life by his father-in-law William Matthews. Viewing hours will be Friday, November 28th, 2008, from 2-4pm, and 7-9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held Saturday 9:30am at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Spring Lake, NJ. Burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold, NJ. Flowers will be accepted and donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, in his memory.
