Jane Robertson Ahrens Lust, 87, of Butler, NJ, passed away surrounded by her family, on Feb 17, 2010 at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford, NJ. She was born in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ on Mar 21, 1922 and was raised in Lindy Lake, West Milford, NJ. She attended Stephens College, Columbia Mo. Jane honorably served her country in the U. S. Marine Corps. Jane was the first women from West Milford Township to join the Marine Corps during WWII. Jane was a primary school teacher at St. Andrew's School, Lincoln Park, NJ. Jane was married to the late John A. Lust of Butler. Jane was an active member and past officer in the N.J. Power Squadron. She was an avid sailor, gardener, gourmet cook, and interior designer. She was a loyal supporter of the U. S. Naval Aviation program and was a lifelong member of the Lakehurst Historical Society. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Butler. Jane will be dearly missed by her family and friends, all of whom she cherished.Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Morrison's Funeral Home, Butler. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church, Butler on Monday, Feb 22, at 10:00 a.m. A private family service will be held at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.Jane is survived by her brother, Walter Ahrens of West Milford, NJ; two nieces, Mary Ann Murphy and her husband Pat of Stockholm, NJ and Martha Padley, West Milford, NJ; six sisters-in-law, Helen L. Ebers, Butler, NJ; Lauren L. Proctor, Freehold, NJ; Gloria L. Grannis (William), Joliet, Il, Louise L. Walinsky (Ed), Falls Church, VA; Anita L. Boyd, Oakland, CA; and Leona L. Murray, Hardyston, NJ, along with many nieces and nephews who will hold dear many fond memories of their loving aunt. Jane was predeceased by her mother and father, Harold and Mary Smith Ahrens, her devoted husband of forty-six years, John A. Lust, and sisters-in-law Anne Ahrens and Frances L. Mc Fadyen. Arrangements are entrusted to the Morrison Funeral Home in Butler, NJ.
