Janet Cristiano

Janet (Dolly) Spencer Cristiano,  age 92, of Bayonne, NJ, formerly of Butler, NJ departed this earth on Monday, February 26, 2024. Janet was born on September 30, 1931 in Washington Heights, NYC, the daughter of the late Loyal and Helen (McCloskey) Spencer, and the beloved sister of her late brother Alan Spencer. She is survived by her loving children, Perry Evan and his husband Dan, Dean Lesley and his wife Kat, and Laurie Jan, her adored grandchildren, Jamie Brian and his wife Karen, Shane Christopher, Christian Perry Andres, Derrick and Takoda, her great grandchildren Declan Shea and Caleb Shane, her dearest sisters-in-law, Ellen and Alma whom, were such a large part of her daily life, her Long Island, Florida, and New Jersey niece and nephews, and her precious dog, Tiffany.

Mom loved her family with every ounce of deep affection imaginable. She and dad lived in their dream house on Boonton Avenue for 35 years, the garden always filled with colorful flowers. Their door was always open to whomever wanted to enter at anytime of the day or night, no invitation needed. Mom's favorite past time was shopping and where there was a sale, there was Janet. She's probably shopping in heaven as I write this. Mom loved all people and animals and her kindness always radiated from her like the sun when it is  shining the brightest. Heaven has gained a sweet angel and she is once again united with family. Every day when I had to leave her, she would say "Do you have to leave?"  "Yes, I will be back." "Ok, age is getting me, when it does,  Don't cry! I will always be with you!

A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, February 29th, 2024, from 5pm-8pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J. A funeral service will be offered Thursday 7:00pm also at the funeral home. 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ.
