Jessie De Bow Sampson, 97, formly of West Milford, NJ, died April 30, 2011 in Denville,NJ. She was born in West Milford on December 8, 1913. For over forty years, she was a secretary at the First National Bank of Paterson. Her interests included sewing, gardening, dancing, and horseback riding. She was an accomplished equestrian and successfully competed at horse shows and county fairs. She was an avid outdoors enthusiast who walked three miles every day. In her later years at Franciscan Oaks, she enjoyed reading, walking and ballroom dancing. She was a lifelong member of the Butler Methodist Church, Chilton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and a former member of the Smoke Rise Riding Club. She was predeceased by her parents, Foster and Ella Smith De Bow; her husband William Sampson; her three sisters, Ella, Elizabeth and Mary, and her dancing partner and friend, Wayne Moody. A memorial service will be held at the Butler Methodist Church on Monday, May 9th at 11:00 AM.
