Joan Marie Pisani

Joan Marie Pisani, 90, of Milton NJ, passed away on April 18, 2024. She was born in Nutley, NJ. Joan was a loving Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was known for her caring and proud nature.

Joan is survived by her daughters Sally Pisani, Cindy Pisani, Judy Needham, son Rodger Pisani, son-in-law Mark Needham, daughter-in-law Laurie Pisani, granddaughter Audrey Needham, grandson Craig Needham, granddaughter Alaina Pisani Albright, and 4 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband Salvatore Pisani, daughter Joan (Joanie) Pisani, her father Francis, mother Maud, brother Fred F., sister Maud A., brother Robert, and sister Denise.

Joan graduated from Nutley High School in Nutley, NJ, and earned an associate degree from County College of Morris. She had a successful career as a computer programmer for Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, NJ. After retirement, she opened an embroidery business and continued traveling with her husband Sal, eventually visiting all 50 states.

A lifelong member of Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Milton, NJ, Joan found solace and community in her faith. She was also a Girl Scout Leader for over 15 years. Joan was an ace at any card game, with her favorite being bridge. In her younger years, Joan was a competitive bowler with a shelf full of trophies to show for it. Joan’s hobbies were sewing, gardening, traveling, and painting.

A Wake will take place on Friday, May 17, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A Funeral Service will be offered on Saturday, May 18, at 10 am at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Kinnelon, NJ. Immediately following the church service, there will be a luncheon at the Silas Condict Hall.

Later in the afternoon at 3:30pm, both Joan and Salvatore’s ashes will be interred at Northern NJ Veterans Cemetery, in Sparta, NJ.
