Joanne Lanfrank Boud

Joanne Lanfrank Boud, age 81 of Bloomingdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Joanne was born in Orange, NJ to the late Victor W. and the late Rose (Jandoli) Lanfrank, Sr. Joanne graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School in Orange, NJ in 1958, and from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ in 1963 with a Bachelors degree in Education. She married Thomas F. Boud, Jr. in August 1964. Joanne started as an elementary school teacher at Our Lady of the Valley Elementary School in 1963 in Orange, NJ. She became a housewife after giving birth to her son in 1965. During the 1970s, Joanne served as substitute teacher in the Bloomingdale school system. Joanne returned full time to the education field as a basic skills teacher in 1981 in Haledon. Joanne was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed mystery novels. She also enjoyed the intellectual challenge of playing Scrabble with her close friend Deena Shafer. Joanne liked to travel. She especially enjoyed the many cruises to Bermuda, the Caribbean and Canada, and the trips to Hawaii. Joanne is survived by her adored husband Thomas F. Boud, Jr., loving son Thomas L. Boud, sister Anita M. Lanfrank of West Orange, NJ, brothers William M. Lanfrank of Orange, NJ, Anthony Lanfrank of Milford, PA and Victor W. (Ricky)Lanfrank, Jr. and his wife Antoinette of Livingston, NJ. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 510 Valley Street, Orange NJ. .
