John C. Iannacone

IANNACONE- John C., age 74, of Butler, NJ, formerly of Paterson, NJ, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 26, 2009. John was a assistant supervisor for the Morris County Department of Weights and Measures in Morristown, NJ for 12 years. He was a Councilman in Butler, serving the Butler Town Counsel for 15 years retiring in 2003, was an instrumental part of preserving the old City Hall in Butler and converting it into the new Police Department, he organized the Butler Centennial celebration in 2001, he is a US Army Veteran, a parishioner of St. Anthony RC Church, Butler, and is the current president of the Butler XYZ Club, serving in his 4th year. John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as golfing, exercising, and watching the New York Yankees. He will always be remembered for serving the community of Butler and for his committment to the ideals of peace. John is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Marianne (nee Koeth), beloved children, Diana Lawler and husband Daniel and Linda Iannacone, cherished grandchildren, Robert John and Rachel, who will miss their PaPa dearly, a brother-in-law, Manfred Koeth and wife Marianne, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Viewing hours will be Sunday, March 1st, 2009 from 2:00 -5:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30am at St. Anthony's RC Church, Butler, NJ, on Monday. Burial will follow the Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Tri Boro First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 222 Butler, NJ, 07405, or St. Anthony's Food Pantry, 65 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ, in his memory.
