John E. Bockhorn, Sr. age 92 of Bloomingdale, NJ., passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022 surrounded by his family. John was born in 1929 to the late John W. and Emma (Liotard) Bockhorn, in Oakland, NJ. John was an Army Veteran and a retired Police Officer. John is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Mary (Storms) Bockhorn, daughter, Nancy Bockhorn of Bloomfield, NJ., and John E. Bockhorn, Jr. and his wife Violet of Bainbridge, NY., five loving grandchildren, Tarra Barrientos and her husband Marco, of Garfield, NJ., Tammy Richards and her husband Theo of Bloomfield, NJ., Crystal Lariva and her husband Elliot, of West Milford, NJ., John E. Bockhorn III of Bloomingdale, NJ., and Melissa Hunt of Bainbridge, NY, his nine adored great grandchildren, Alysia, Jenica, Lucas, Isabella, Lily, Liam, Levi, Alana, and John Michael, and one great-great grandson, Jayce. Also surviving is his sister Edna Van Horn of Crossville, TN. John was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Courter and his brother, William Bockhorn. Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, 10:00 am at Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church, 454 Pulis Ave, Franklin Lakes, NJ. . There are no gallery images.
