John J. Grecco

John J. Grecco, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly at home on January 26, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in Passaic, NJ, on September 4, 1963, John was a dedicated and successful engineer whose career flourished at Stryker in Mahwah, NJ, where he spent over two decades contributing to the field with numerous patents and achievements.

While his professional accomplishments were noteworthy, it was his whimsical spirit and warmth that will be missed by all who knew him. John was known for his goofy nature and ability to light up any room. Whether it was his infectious laughter or his passion for playing pool, playing golf with friends and  giving tours of the house he made a home, especially his office.  He truly was the life of the party, creating cherished memories for his family and friends alike. 

John took great pride in the time spent with his family, often reminiscing about the many family vacations shared together. He was fiercely devoted and would go to great lengths for the ones he loved, affirming that family was his greatest achievement. He leaves behind his son, Danny Meehan; daughter, Katie Shortway (Doug); son, Jake Grecco; and grandchild, Ryan. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Joseph Grecco (Rhonda); niece, Paige; and nephews, Ryan and Tyler.

John is predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Theresa Grecco, and his twin brother, Stephen. Their memories will continue to live on in the stories shared by his family and in the hearts of those who loved him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life during visitation on January 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 7:30 PM, all at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ.

As we reflect on John's life, we find solace in knowing he made the world a considerably brighter place by simply being in it. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will forever remain in our hearts.
