John Marion

John Marion, age 91, of Butler, N.J., died Monday, June 17, 2013. Mr. Marion was born in Bloomingdale, NJ. He is the son of the late Nathan and the late Cora (Kayhart) Marion. A loving and supportive father, grandfather and great grandfather. Devoted husband of the late Marie (Tintle) Marion. John celebrated a long, prosperous life; he believed you should find something to laugh about every day. An outstanding member of the community, he served in the Merchant Marine as a radio operator during World War II, worked as a foreman for the borough of Butler Municipal Power and Light Company for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He was an exempt fireman of Butler Kinney Hose Co., served on the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad and was a member of the American Legion Post # 154. He is survived by four children, Craig and wife Rita of Butler, NJ, Michele Piatt and husband Robert of Butler, NJ, Nathan and wife Cathy of Raleigh, NC and Jody Emami-Yeganeh and husband Bahram of Lincolnwood, Ill, nine cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2013 at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ. Viewing hours will be Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and 7pm to 9pm also at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ.
