Joseph E. Watkins

Joseph E. Watkins, 82, of Bloomingdale, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Joseph J. and Ethel (Opperman) Watkins. Joseph served in the US Navy, worked in human resources in the banking industry before retiring and was a parishioner at St. Marys Church in Pompton Lakes. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Watkins, and beloved son Dennis Watkins and his wife Mary Ann. Also surviving are his sisters in law, Kathy Michalski of NJ, Dorothy Malinchoc of FL and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered 11:00am, on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Marys Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ. Burial will immediately follow the mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Marys RC Church Food Pantry, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes, NJ, 07442, in his memory.
