Joseph Francis Lakawicz, Jr.

Joseph (Joe) Francis Lakawicz , Jr., also known as "Gramps" to many, age 85 of Bloomingdale, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2022. Joe was born May 23, 1937 to the late Joseph and Valeria Lakawicz, Sr., in Paterson, NJ. Joe lived in Paterson until October 1962, when he, his late wife, daughter, and son moved to Bloomingdale, NJ. Joe was employed by the Singer Kearfott and the various companies it became for over 40 years. Joe served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the St. Anthonys, Butler chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Joe loved to fish and hunt, garden, and complete carpentry projects. His favorite "recipe" was reservations. Joe is survived by his daughter, Judith Anne Lakawicz Losh of Little River, SC, his son Joseph Mark Lakawicz, Sr and his wife Rosemarie of Butler, NJ; seven loving grandchildren: LeighAnne Lakawicz and her fianc Arturo Garcia of Stafford,VA, Joseph Mark Lakawicz, Jr. and his wife Alaina of Mount Laurel, NJ, Ashley Rodriguez and her husband Joseph of Staffford, VA, Matthew Jude Losh and his wife Kayla of Locust, NC, Adam Lakawicz and his wife Megan of Butler, NJ, Erika Arabia and her husband Dan of West Caldwell, NJ, and Danielle Nicole Hendrix and her husband Clint of Lumberton, NC; as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Jakob, Austin, Kylie, Liam, Justin, Adam, Connor, Kevin, Arturo ("Bug"), Heidi, Daniel, and Lexi Grace. Joe was predeceased by an infant son; his loving wife, Muriel; son Michael John; parents Joseph and Valeria, brothers Tony, John, and Casimir; and two beloved hunting dogs Kaz and Buck. The family will receive friends at the Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ, on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthonys 65 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital or the PKD foundation in Joes name. . Memorial Donation There are no gallery images.
