Joseph G Mcgurr

Joseph G. McGurr of Wayne, NJ, passed away on 12/26 after a long illness. He is survived by his Mother, Blanche, his brothers Paul and James, and sisters Mary and Blanche, beloved girlfriend Anna Frano, 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 7 great nephews and 5 great nieces, from Wayne, Sea Girt and Brick, NJ, Clear Lake Shores, Texas, Norfolk, Virginia and Scott's Head, NSW, Australia. He was well loved, and loved well, and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Joe grew up in Wayne, NJ, but also lived in Hibbing, Minnesota, Houston, Texas and Columbia, South Carolina for periods of his life. He attended Southwest Texas State University for a brief time, but was more dedicated to horticulture, landscaping and antiques than school. Joe was also a great salesman, and worked in partnership with his brother Bob at A&A Auto Wreckers until Bob's death in 2009. A strong, but very sensitive person, Joseph never quite recovered from losing Bob. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to read just about everything he could get his hands on. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend, and he will live in our hearts forever. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 1:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home. A memorial service will also be held Saturday at 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Final disposition will be private.
