Joseph J. Portello

Joseph J. Portello, 68, of Bloomingdale, passed away on March 12, 2017. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of Edward and Catherine Portello. Joe proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army, he was a Media Production Teacher for High Point Regional High School in Sussex and a former mail carrier in West Paterson. Joe is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 40 years, Geraldine Portello, his beloved children, Nicole Portello and husband Eric Nordby and Veronica Portello-Notebaert and husband Michael, a loving brother, Michael Portello and his wife Lyn, four cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Charlotte, Eleanor and Natalie and is also survived by a niece and a nephew, Michele and Leonard. Viewing hours will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Avenue Butler, NJ. A mass will be offered on Saturday 10 AM at St Anthony's RC Church also in Butler. At the family's request the cremation will be held in private .
