Joseph P. Christiano

Joseph P. Christiano, 72, of Butler, passed away January 24, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in New York City, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Christiano. After retiring as a letter carrier for United States Post Office in Franklin Lakes, he worked as a custodian at the Richard Butler School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war serving for the United States Army, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8096 in Butler, and a member of the Vietnam Vets of America Chapter 800. He loved listening to oldies music, playing golf, and the New York Rangers. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, JoAnne, his beloved children, Derrick and his wife Stephanie and Tracy Vitale and her husband Joseph, his cherished grandchildren, Madison Christiano and Joseph and Sophia Vitale and his loving and caring sisters in law and brothers in law, Judy and Annette Cappello and Philip Cappello and Paul Bologna. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, Aunts, cousins and loyal friends. Viewing hours will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, New Jersey. A funeral service will be offered 5 PM Sunday also at the funeral home. The final disposition will be held in private.
