Josephine 'Joan' Reilly Morse

Josephine (Joan) Reilly Morse, of Butler, NJ, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home on April 5, 2015. She was the youngest child born into a family of seven in Northern Ireland to James and Margaret Reilly. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 and stayed with her sister Mary while working at the telephone company. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Doug Morse. She married Doug in 1958, became a citizen and raised three children in Butler, NJ. Joan also worked in the Butler Middle and High School Cafeteria, where she baked exceptional cookies for many years. She has been a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, as well as a member of the Columbiettes for years.Joan is survived by her beloved husband Doug, as well as her children Teresa (husband Jeff Bernstein), Doug, and Kathy (husband Don Harrington). She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa and Molly Bernstein; Doug, Anthony and Arielle Morse; and Conor, Patrick and Maeve Harrington. Joan also has numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives in both the United States and Ireland. Joan's passion in life was her family and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren. She was loved by all and will forever be missed. Viewing hours will be held Friday, April 10th, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ. Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, April 11th at 9:00 AM at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Butler, NJ. The burial will follow in Mt. Rest Cemetery, also in Butler.In lieu of flowers, the family is wishing donations be made to St. Anthony R.C. Church, memo item "In Memorial of Joan Morse".
