Date of Birth: August 17, 1922

Juliana Heck, 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ. Prior to receiving care at the medical center, she was a patient at the Hackensack Meridian Nursing and Rehab – Red Bank and had resided at Leisure Village at Lakewood.

Juliana was born in Haskell, N.J. She was the youngest of sixteen children of Michael and Anna Dunay. She was married to Gustave Heck of Butler. She lived most of her life in Butler. Juliana worked as a waitress at several local restaurants including the Northwood Inn, Friar Tuck Inn and Triangle Hofbrau.

She was preceded in her death by her husband Gustave Heck, in 1995. Survivors include her son Gregory (and Linda) Heck of Brentwood, TN, and her daughter Karen Heck of Brick, NJ along with three grandchildren (Melissa, Ashley, and Kaitlin) and three great-grandchildren (Olivia, Stella and Summer).

Juliana was known as a loving and supportive mother and grandmother and was adored by her granddaughters. She loved to cook. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo, she could also spend hours playing solitaire. Juliana spent countless hours assisting her siblings with care when they needed help.

The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at her nursing facility and those who assisted her at Leisure Village.

Visitation and a short service will be held at Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler on Monday, July 17, 2023. Visitation will be between 10 AM to 12 PM, with a service at 12PM, followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
