Kathleen M. Vanderveer was born at home in Butler, New Jersey on August 12, 1926, the fifth of Patrick and Anastasia (Cotter) Donnellys seven children. She died December 29, 2020 at age 94 of a myocardial infarction. Raised in Butler, she later lived in New Hampshire, Franklin Lakes, NJ, and Homosassa, FL, before relocating to Towaco, NJ in 2016. She was married to Robert Braen (deceased 1956) and later to William Vanderveer (deceased 2003). Mrs. Vanderveer worked at New Jersey Bell and Pompton Federal Savings & Loan, later Columbia Savings Bank. She retired after many years as an executive secretary and head of human resources for Denman & Davis in Clifton, NJ. After her retirement, she used her skills to the benefit of several civic organizations in the Sugarmill Woods area of Homosassa, Florida. She was an avid reader throughout her life, with a strong interest in history and politics. She also had a great love for dogs, and it was common to see Kathleen driving her car accompanied by Tammy, her miniature schnauzer (or successor Linus). In recent years, her frequent companion was the family Pomeranian, Casey, who adored her. She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers Joseph, Francis (Alice), Richard (Helen), William (survived by Norma), and James, and sister Geraldine (William) Sebring. She is survived by her nephew Brian (Ellen) Donnelly, with whom she resided until recently, and her nieces Karen Donnelly Knapp,Patricia Sebring Haffey (Neil), Margaret Sebring Buss (Edward), Michele Donnelly, Kathleen Sebring Stier (Alois) and Maria Sebring Ferrara (John), her great-niece Caitlin Donnelly and many great nieces, nephews and others who fondly called her "Aunt Kay". Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Morrison Funeral Home in Butler, NJ.
