Kathryn L. Veech, affectionately known as Kathy, touched the lives of many during her remarkable journey through life. Born on September 16, 1945, in Paterson, NJ, Kathy's vibrant spirit and unyielding strength characterized her essence. She passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2025, leaving behind a wealth of cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Kathy was a true Jill of all trades, seamlessly transitioning between roles in beauty sales, waitressing, and housekeeping. Her dedication to her work was evident in everything she did, showcasing her strong will and determination. She possessed a unique personality, marked by her sharp sense of humor and her candid approach to life – always telling it like it was. Kathy's independence and fighting spirit made her a role model for those who knew her.
Educated at Eastside High School in Paterson, Kathy embraced learning and growth throughout her life. She cultivated numerous interests that brought her joy, such as cooking, reading, gardening, and playing bingo. Many fond moments were spent with friends and family engaged in spirited games of Yahtzee, where laughter echoed through the room.
Kathy's proudest accomplishments stemmed from the love she poured into her family, finding her greatest joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. The bonds she forged with her grandchildren - Albert David Peterson III (Xenia Gonzalez), Mickey Peterson (Amanda Haines), Lisa Peterson, and Ashley Peterson (Michael Elvena) - were profound. Her great-grandchildren, Leslie Gonzalez, Molly Schutze, Maci Elvena, Aubrey Peterson, Michael Elvena, Albert Peterson, Angelique Peterson, Madelynn Elvena, and Marley Peterson, filled her heart with indescribable happiness.
Even with the challenges life presented, Kathy remained resilient and nurturing. Her strength was prevalent not only in her career but also in her relationships, where she provided unwavering support and encouragement. The memories created during her travels in recent years, especially the laughter shared over games of Yahtzee with family, will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
Kathy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Veech, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life. Their love story continues to inspire those who knew them, reminding us of the timeless bonds that endure even beyond life's journey.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy's life and legacy during her visitation on April 25, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ 07405.
