Kenneth A. Mead

Kenneth A. Mead, 75, of Hewitt, formerly of Kinnelon, died on Monday, May 6, 2013. Born in Paterson, Mr. Mead was the son of the late Kenneth and the late Verna (Pollison) Mead. He worked in refrigeration coil assembly for Edwards Engineering in Pompton Plains, NJ and at the age of 17 he started delivering newspapers and never stopped till his dying day. He also volunteered at the Wittenhaus Kennels in West Milford and will be remembered as a simple, down to earth man who loved to help others. Kenneth is survived by his beloved children: Peter and his wife Stacilynn of San Francisco, CA; Bonnie Witten and husband Ernie of West Milford; Ethel Shirk and husband William of Selinsgrove, PA; Jo Ann Videtto and husband David of Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as his loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Thelma Lewicki of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jasper Card of Pompton Lakes, NJ; six cherished grandchildren: Stephen and Caitlin Halkiu of Cincinnati, OH; Alexis Halkiu and fianc Brian Roach of Columbus OH; Dana Mead of Cincinnati, OH; Christopher Shirk and Matthew Shirk of Selinsgrove, PA; Anita Witten of West Milford, NJ, and one adored great grandchild, Jackson Carter Halkiu of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by his devoted wife of 49 loving years, Jo Ann (Lewicki). Viewing hours will be held on Thursday, May 9th, 2013 from 5-9pm at Morrisons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday 10:30am also at Morrisons funeral home. All other services will be held in private.
