Larry Paulo

Larry Paulo, age 88, (beloved husband of Teri) of Butler, NJ died on Thursday, March 5, 2020. A decorated veteran of the Korean War, he served as a Corporal in the United States Army and received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Larry was a longtime employee of Shulton \ American Cyanamid as a lead mechanic for their production lines. The youngest of 5 siblings, he had the opportunity to attend college but declined to be able to work and care for his widowed mother. Service to others has been the primary focus of his life. Friends and family knew that he would always be there when needed...for something as simple as offering a ride to an appointment, fixing anything with his expert skills as a handyman, or providing a place to live in his own house when needed. He was a humble man and never complained, always putting the needs of others first. He was the ultimate caregiver, providing Teri a wonderful life after losing her sight at an early age. An amazing father, he worked incredibly long hours to ensure his children had more opportunities than he, yet he never missed an important family event. He doted on his grandchildren who were the highlight of his retirement years. A devoted husband of 64 years he is survived by wife Teri, children Michele and Michael, grandchildren Jessie, Dean, Hannah, Ethan and Claire. He is survived by sister Gloria Wargo. He is predeceased by mother Mary, and brothers Joseph, Manuel and William. Viewing hours will be Monday, March, 9th 2020, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Monday 11:00am at St. Anthony RC Church, 65 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA, at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org) is appreciated in his memory.
