Louis Mariconda

Louis Mariconda, 83, formerly of Butler, NJ, departed this life on November 18, 2015. Lou was born on December 28, 1931 to Louis and Margaret Skelton Mariconda and grew up in Fair Lawn and Paterson, NJ. He graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson in 1949. Lou served as a corporal in the US Army from 1953-1955 in Germany and France. He met and married Mary Alice Bailey in 1959. They moved to Butler, NJ in 1962, where Lou lived until 2013. Lou graduated from Seton Hall University and worked as an accountant in the manufacturing sector for most of his career. Lou was an active lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 943 in Butler and served as Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was an avid local sports fan and the Yankees, Giants, Notre Dame, and NJ Devils were his favorite teams. His favorite hobby was handicapping thoroughbred horse racing and although he did not get to the races often, he would always have a daily racing form to pick his winners. Lou was predeceased by his wife Mary Alice in 1981 and is survived by his son, Kenneth and wife Kris Ann of Bridgewater, NJ; his daughter, Alison Sullivan and her husband, Bryan, of Suffern, NY, and was "Papa" to granddaughters Ashley and Emily. Visiting will be held at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave. in Butler, NJ on Sunday, November 22 from 3-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony RC Church, 65 Bartholdi Ave. in Butler, NJ on Monday, November 23 at 11 am.
