Margaret (Marge) V. Cassata, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Marge was born on April 20,1930 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Nancy (Rollino) and Joseph Vaccarello. She graduated from Central Needle Trades High School in Manhattan, known currently as the Fashion Institute of Technology. There she learned sewing, machine work, garment cutting, draping, tailoring and costume sketching. In 1948, she married Charles S. Cassata of Garfield, NJ at Our Lady of Loreto in Brooklyn, NY. Together, with the help of family, they literally built their home in Wayne, NJ. They began their businesses of Classic Cleaners, Classic Tuxedos and Classic Bridals, all in Butler, NJ. She was a prominent member within the Butler community for 40 years (1959-1999). Marge was a member of the St. Theresa Society in Brooklyn, NY, a founding-member of the St. Anthony Columbiettes of Butler, NJ, as well as a member of Soroptimist International, a volunteer organization of women helping the local community. After retiring, Marge moved from Wayne, NJ to Brick, NJ. In August of 2018, she and Charlie moved to Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, NJ. She enjoyed winters in Boynton Beach, FL where she had many friends and family. Her summers were spent in New Jersey, enjoying time with family at their home on Long Beach Island. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, playing cards, and many visits to her "happy place" of Aruba. Marge is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles S. Cassata as well as her daughter, Theresa M. Cassata of Long Beach Island, NJ, her daughter & son-in-law, Carolyn (Cassata) and Chuck Lundy of Pompton Plains, NJ, as well as her daughter-in-law Colleen (Warfield) Cassata-McGilp of Butler, NJ. She was also blessed with three grandchildren, Joseph C. Cassata of Highland Lakes, NJ, Deanna M. Lundy of Frederick, MD and Christopher C. Lundy of Pompton Plains, NJ. She was the proud aunt of 11 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews, and 15 great-great nieces and nephews. Marge is pre-deceased by her son, Joseph A. Cassata of Butler, NJ, as well as her brothers, Louis Vaccarello of Niagara Falls, NY, Steven Vaccarello of Hialeah, FL, and Gerard Vaccarello of Ronkonkoma, NY. The family welcomes all to the viewing and mass. The viewing will be held at the Morrison Funeral Home in Butler, NJ on Sunday, March 3rd from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. A mass will be held on Monday, March 4th at 10am at St. Marys Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Marge will be laid to rest at Mt.
