Maria J. Garcia nee Morales of Paterson, NJ passed away peacefully at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff on July 10th, 2020 Beloved wife of Candelario Garcia; devoted mother of Cristina Garcia, Christopher Garcia and his wife Tania, Monica Galiano and her husband Rocco and her beloved son at heart Angel Ortiz; dear sister of Milagros Torres and husband Perfecto, Benito Morales Jr. and wife Myriam; beloved grandmother of Reinaldo Rodriguez III and wife Evelyn, Destiny Trinidad, Anaya Garcia, Eliu Rodriguez, Andrew and Michael Galiano; loving great-grandmother to Kairi and Sophia Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Barbara Torres, Daniel Morales and Benito Morales III and many relatives she adored. Born in Rincn, Puerto Rico and moved to Passaic County, NJ in 1952. Maria was a kind hearted, life of every party and could light up a room by just entering it. She found joy in teaching children at Blessed Sacrament School for over 14 years. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 14th from 4-6PM at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ. A Mass celebrating Marias life and faith will be held on Wednesday, July 15th at 10AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, 155 West Parkway, Pompton Plains, NJ. Due to the pandemic, a public repast will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Maria's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
