Marie Newton

Marie Newton , age 81, of Butler NJ, entered into eternal rest, Monday, November 21st , 2011. Marie was born Paterson, NJ, the daughter of the late John and the late Margaret Gass. She was a parishioner and member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Anthony RC Church in Butler,NJ, was a member of the First Order of Franciscans of the Holy Name Province,and worked as a Registered Nurse before retiring. She is survived by her beloved children, Paula Lavorgna and husband Edward, Kate Elliot and husband Roger, Karen Newton, Frank Newton and wife Karen, John Newton and wife Jen, Kevin Newton and wife Patricia and Patrick Newton and wife Alyssa, her loving brother , Martin Gass and wife Viola,12 cherished grandchildren and 4 adored great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her devoted husband Frank. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 from 3:00 -5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. The funeral will be Wednesday, 11:00 am at St. Anthony RC Church, 65 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ in lieu of flowers donations can besent to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 West Evergreen Ave., Suite 204, Chicago, Il 60642, in her memory.
