Butler, NJ

Marilyn Barry, a cherished soul known for her kindness and gentle spirit, peacefully departed this world on February 17, 2025, at her beloved home in Bloomingdale, NJ, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Born on October 17, 1930, in Bloomingdale, she was a lifelong resident of the area, holding dear the community she called home.

A proud graduate of Butler High School, Marilyn carried the values of education and hard work throughout her life. She dedicated many years of her career to Allied Felt in Bloomingdale, ultimately retiring after a fulfilling journey. Her contributions to her workplace were matched only by her broader commitment to her community, exemplified by her involvement as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Bloomingdale Fire Department. This dedication showcased her caring nature and her passion for helping others.

Marilyn embraced life with a love for reading and cooking, finding joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she created a nurturing environment that fostered love and laughter. She is survived by her devoted son, Don Barry Jr., and his wife Eva; her cherished grandchildren: Don Barry III, Kate DeFranco, and Evan Barry; and her three adored great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Additionally, Marilyn is survived five sisters—Jean Sanders of Pompton Plains, Lorrain Ryerson of Butler, Priscilla Mazzucco of Butler, Shirley Sisco of Pompton Lakes, and Linda Bolton of Bloomingdale—who shared with her countless memories and an unbreakable bond of sisterhood.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving parents, Peter Mosier and Irma (Pellington), her devoted husband Don Sr. and her son beloved Peter . While her physical presence will be missed, the legacy of love, kindness, and gentle strength she leaves behind in the hearts of her family and friends will endure forever. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so generously shared during her lifetime. Services will be held at a future date.
