Marilyn M. Socci

Marilyn M. Socci of Butler, NJ, cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart of 45 years, Ernest B. Socci, in 1996. Marilyn was born on November 17, 1930 in Rutherford, NJ, to George and Louise (Klemeyer) Rupp. For over 40 years, Marylin worked at PSE&G as a switchboard operator. She liked to spend her time volunteering as a member of the NJ Order of the Eastern Star, as well as Our Savior Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for many things, such as planting and bird watching, and loved to create art with her stamp collection. Her zest for life kept her active throughout her years from traveling to playing games and chasing around her great grandchildren. And possibly the wisest thing she passed on to all of her family is her belief that life is too short not to enjoy dessert. She will remain forever in the hearts of her two daughters, Linda Lyden and Nancy Harm and her husband Steve; grandchildren Laura Jean, Alyson, Michael, Eric, and Christen; and great grandchildren Lia, Blake, and Aurora. Due to COVID-19 a memorial service will be scheduled at another time.
