Marina passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 13, 2025, with loved ones by her side. She was born in Magsingal Ilocos Sur, Philippines on June 18, 1937, the 2nd of the 4 children of Juan Udani and Nieves Tolentino. She graduated in Manila where she obtained her degree in nursing. Recognizing the opportunity to work abroad, she went to Germany in the 70's and worked there for 8 years. She immigrated to the United States and settled in Bloomingdale N.J. She worked in Preakness Hospital and then later in Barnert Hospital where she retired in 2007.
Marina is survived by her former spouse Timoteo Coronel; their 5 children and their respective spouses Alberto and Melanie, Bladdymir and Ayleen, Clea and Lucio, Dennis, and Ethel; 10 grandchildren and their respective spouses; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Nieves, her sisters Josefina and Illuminada, her brother Prescilo and longtime companion Bob Allen.
She was totally dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she was an avid gardener, and a dedicated reader who found solace in the pages of a book. Her passion for baking brought joy to many and she was especially well-known for her pistachio cake.
Marina had great respect and love for all the people in her life. Her warm smile and gentle spirit will be forever etched in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
