Marjorie J Katz (Arkin) 72-Born November 7, 1935 in Bangor, Maine and has resided in West Milford for 25 years. Marge or "Ma" Katz as she was best known, dedicated her life to being active in her children and grandchildren's lives. She started out back in 1968 when she and husband brought their oldest children Joi and Alan to join the Monarchs Jr. Drum and Bugle Corp in Wayne, NJ. After just a few months the entire family ate slept and lived for the Drum Corp Life and from that point on she was "Ma Katz" to the 128 kids who marched and was loved by all. Over the years, she has been involved with many organizations and touched many people. She also was associated with the Kings Regiment Jr. Drum and Bugle Corp, the Windjammers J. Drum and Bugle Corp, The Bridgeman Jr. Drum and Bugle Corp, and the Hawthorne Caballeros Sr. Drum and Bugle Corp. Her 4 children, 2 daughters, Joi-Small and Lana Wood and 2 sons, Alan and Josh Katz, survive Marge. As her children made their way in life and became adults, Marge became active with the Skyliners Sr. Drum and Bugle Corps, where she sang in the Alumni Choir and marched in the Honor Guard for approximately 10 years. She also found a love for travel, which she did as often as possible with family and friends. Marge was Past President of the Jewish War Vets Aux. 695 of Wayne, NJ and also held the position President of the American Legion Aux. Post 174 of Wayne, NJ and was Sgt. At Arm for the Passaic County American Legion Aux. , And was a member of the Red Hat Association. Marge was employed by the West Milford Board of Education for the last 20 years where she drove a school bus and loved all of "Her Kids".Marge loved and supported all of her 6 grandchildren, Shannon Small, Bill Katz, Jennifer Romanchak, Jessica Small, Ryan (RJ) Romanchak and Brian Small all who reside in West Milford.Marge was a loving mother, and beloved grandmother and she will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. Marge is also survived by her brother, Harold Arkin of Fort Myers, FL, sons-in-law, Robert Small and Scott Wood, daughters-in-law, Rickie Katz and Valerie Katz. Also John Romanchak and sister-in-law, Paula NearierMarge was preceded by her husband, Lawrence Katz, 1984.A memorial service will be held at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave Butler, NJ, Sunday 4:00-8:00 PM.
