Michael Peter Naipawer Jr., 78, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2020 after a recent diagnosis of cancer. He was the son of the late Sophie "Sonia" Wojtasek and Michael Peter Naipawer Sr. and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonita "Bonnie" Devore, his son, Michael Peter Naipawer lll, daughter, Lynda Portelli and son-in-law, Vincenzo Portelli. Mike grew up in Wallington, NJ along with his brother, Richard and sister-in-law, Jane Trawinski. He graduated from the Rutgers School of Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacist and retired after 40 plus enjoyable years with Glen Rock Medical Pharmacy. His high school sweetheart, Bonnie, graduated Seton Hall University as a teacher. They were married on December 17th, 1966. For a short while, they lived in Garfield, before moving to Bloomingdale to raise their children. He and Bonnie loved to travel! They enjoyed the company of neighborhood friends who they spent time with camping on the Delaware River, taking trips to Spring Lake, cruises to Alaska, Bermuda and more, as well as holiday gatherings. They also took annual road trips to visit life-long friends who retired to Florida. Along the way they made special stops in Georgia to catch up with their sisterin-law, Betsy Devore, wife of the late Joe, Bonnies brother and their families. An honorary member of Meisters Fishing Club, Mike loved deep sea fishing especially at the Jersey Shore. His favorite boat was the Elaine B ll out of the Highlands. He was also an extremely talented, self-taught carpenter and woodworker. He enjoyed building furniture and wooden decor for family and friends, especially to give as gifts at Christmastime. Mike was a member of St. Anthonys, Butler and a devout catholic who was always ready to give a helping hand. He was a good man, with a big smile and an even bigger heart. He will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten. Due to the current restrictions regarding Covid, plans for a future celebration of Mikes life will be announced at a later date, when we can all gather safely.
