Nancy Lyons Patterson

Nancy Lyons Patterson, aged 85, died peacefully at home in Kinnelon on November 15, 2015 surrounded by loving family. Nancy was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Keane Lyons. Nancy grew up in Brooklyn, NY and Ventnor, NJ. In 1958 Nancy married her late husband James Duff Patterson whom passed away in 2010. She is survived by her beloved children, James Dugald Patterson, Elizabeth Jane and her husband Paul Burns and Robert Keane Patterson. Nancy was an adoring grandmother to Katherine, Robert and Anne Burns. She is also survived by her sister in-law Jane Cumming Lyons, brother in-law Jack White and many loving nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her siblings, Thomas, John and Robert Lyons and Elizabeth Notine. Nancy loved education and the enrichment of the mind. She is a graduate of Barry College in Miami Florida and New York University. Nancy worked as a Public Health Nurse in NYC, a preschool teacher at St. Anthony's in Butler and as an oncology nurse at Dover General Hospital. Nancy was a volunteer member of The Friends of Kinnelon Library where she had many friends and laughs. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Magnificat RC Church. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church in Kinnelon, NJ on November 21, 2015 at 10am.
