Norma Kovats, of Butler N.J., born November 28, 1929, daughter of Jacob and Irma Van Seters in Paterson N.J., died suddenly on May 12, 2013 at age 83. Norma was an extremely talented individual. She could sketch and paint anything that came to mind, and did all different types of arts and crafts, from sewing to ceramics, and was a great cook. She loved music, and used to play the organ. As a young girl she was involved in gymnastics and dance. She then became an Arthur Murray dance instructor with John Riola, her former husband. Norma performed professionally in numerous places such as Madison Square Garden and competed in and also judged dance competitions at the Palladium. Norma was an animal lover, she was involved with the A.S.P.C.A. and provided a loving home to any animal in need. She was a very giving person. Norma had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be with. Norma is predeceased by Mother and Father Jacob and Irma Van Seters Brother and Sister Neil and Ruth Van Seters and Mother-in-law Ruth Kovats Father-in-law John Kovats. Norma is survived by her devoted husband Theodore Kovats, Former husband John Riola, her beloved son, John Kovats and daughter-in-law Nancy Kovats, her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Kovats and Tammy Williams, a great grandson Ricky Haggerman, her best friend, Shirley Campbell, a loving Daughter, Karen and son-in-law James Molner, Sister-in-law Merrel Kovats and partner Christina Palmer and a dear Brother-in-law, Kevin Kovats. Viewing hours will be held Thursday, May 16th, 2013, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held Thursday 8:30pm also at the funeral home. All other services will be private.
