Pamela Esteves

It is with much love and deep sorrow that we share news of the passing of Pamela Esteves, age 78, of Bloomingdale on February 1st.

Pam was born in Ossining, NY on October 31, 1944 to the late Martha (Bingell) & Gunnar Neilson. She graduated from Ossining High School and went on to work for Con Edison.

In her early adult years, she joined the Order of the Eastern Star. Its core values and charitable mission remained important to her throughout her life. Her watchword was “hope”. She carried that, and her deep-rooted faith, with her always.

In 1972 she married her soulmate, Robert Esteves. They moved to Bloomingdale soon after and couldn’t wait to start a family. Together, there, they they raised three children until Bob's passing in 1994. Pam worked in town as Registrar of Vital Statistics for the Health Department for 20+ years. She finally retired in 2020.

Pam is survived by her son, David Esteves of Parsippany, and her daughter, Sarah Galus (husband, Pete) of Kinnelon. She is predeceased by her eldest son, Steven Esteves. Pam leaves behind a loving sister, Linda Neilson of Elizaville, NY and sister-in-law, Gloria Esteves of Sleepy Hollow, NY. She also leaves behind a brother, Gunnar Neilson (CT) and brother-in-law, Richard Esteves (FL). Her greatest gifts were her grandchildren - David Jr. and Sydney Esteves, Andrew, Owen and Emmett Galus - and they will miss her terribly. Extended family and dear friends will all miss her, too.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 9th ,2023 from 4pm-8pm at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home Inc., 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, N.J. A Funeral Service will be Friday at 10am at Butler United Methodist Church, Butler, NJ. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery for immediate family.
