Patricia Ann Essing, a cherished member of the Butler community, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10, 1943, in Pequannock, New Jersey, Patricia led a life filled with kindness, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved.

A proud graduate of Butler High School, Patricia spent many years as a dedicated member of the Tri Boro First Aid Squad. Her selfless contributions to her community included delivering a baby during her service, a testament to her caring nature and strong commitment to helping others. Patricia’s steadfast commitment to community continued in Surfside Beach, SC, one of her former residences, where she was a member of the Surfside Beach Fire Department as well as volunteering for many other causes. Known for her giving spirit, Patricia not only served her community, but she also cultivated deep relationships with her family, always yearning to be around them and participate in their lives.

Patricia had a passion for many hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, and immersing herself in books. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: gardening on sunny days, conquering jigsaw puzzles, and taking trips to the beach. She was particularly devoted to attending all her grandchildren's events, where her pride and joy shone brightly.

Her family will forever remember her as a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. Patricia is survived by her beloved sons, William Joseph Essing (Rithy) and Mark Essing (Regina), her dear daughter, Amy Essing, her cherished sisters, Nancy Smith, Toni DeMarco-Muller (James) and her brother, Wayne Demarco. She also leaves behind her four adored grandchildren, Meha, Bridget, Brian, and Christopher. Additionally, Patricia is survived by many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. The family is grateful to have had Patricia's warmth and love, which will undoubtedly continue to inspire them.
