Patricia Mary Bianchi, age 85, of Butler passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bianchi was born in Jamaica, NY the daughter of the late James T. and the late Mary B (Welsh) Kenny. The daughter of Scottish immigrants Patricia grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY, spent summers with her family at Elk Lake in Waymart, PA where she made many lasting friendships and where she met the love of her life Thomas Bianchi and was married in November of 1970. They moved to Butler in 1971 and started their new life. They Loved to dance and have fun with family and friends.
Pat attended St Josephs College, Brooklyn, NY, Hunter college in NYC, was a member of AAUW -American Association of University Women and had a masters degree in social work. She worked in mental health centers in NY and NJ, spent 27 years at Lakeland Regional High School in Wanaque with the child study team and retired in 2001. Pat was also a member of St. Marys Parish Pompton Lakes, NJ. When she wasnt with her grandchildren, she spent her days volunteering at Kinnelon library-worked book sale at the firehouse in Kinnelon every summer where she met many dear friends. She touched many lives, was loved by many and was always ready to help.
Pat was predeceased by a sister Rosemary Castellano and her son in law whom she loved like a son, Andy Gallegan. She is survived by her devoted husband Tom of 52 years, beloved daughter, Holly Gallegan, brother Jim Kenny of Bangor Maine and her adored grandchildren, Rachael, and Andy Gallegan. Also surviving is her dear friend Sally Hepburn.
A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, 9:30 am at St. Mary`s RC Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ. Burial will follow in Old Canaan Cemetery, Waymart, PA.
