Paul Brozena

September 26, 1943 — March 29, 2023

Paul F. Brozena, 79, of Kinnelon, N.J., passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023 at home. He was born in 1943 to Frank and Lillian (Obazanowski) Brozena in Wilkes-Barre, P.A., and raised in Wallington, N.J., where he met and started dating the love of his life, Marion (Semper) while attending Wallington High School. After graduating from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts, and as a brother in the TKE Fraternity, Paul returned home and married his high school sweetheart in 1965. The two quickly forged a life of warmth and creativity, and their bond was reflected in their two daughters. In 1969 they settled in Kinnelon with their young family, becoming parishioners of Our Lady of the Magnificat RC Church, and creating a home that transformed through the years from their bohemian beginnings in the Summer of Love to one that spoke to the depth of their intellectual and artistic sensibilities and unshakeable partnership.

Paul worked incredibly hard after college to support his family - briefly with the Continental Can Company in sales before he transferred his skills over to Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a sales representative for a 34 year career, from 1969-2003. He was recognized countlessly for his sales performance and achievements through the years, received many accolades, and became a Cardiovascular Specialist when the new division was added. He earned much respect from his Cardiologist clients and Pfizer co-workers, and was referred to by many at Pfizer as the “Dean”. Paul was even invited back into Pfizer’s Ambassador program to continue his service as he transitioned into retirement full time.

In retirement, Paul had more time to devote to passions that shaped and enriched his life including travel, dining, art, laughter, reading, movies, music, golf, tennis and life. With a great love for his wife and family, he also took time to appreciate starry nights and early peaceful mornings. Paul preferred to take the scenic route while listening to his favorite tunes with his wife by his side, making new discoveries enjoying life to the fullest. They were rewarded with five adoring, and adored grandchildren and became dedicated to creating beautiful moments that brought everyone together. He was an extremely proud Grandpa, a title he coveted for almost 25 years, often treating his grandchildren to annual ball games and beach vacations at HHI, where so many happy memories were made. Becoming an honored member of the “7 Continents Club”, Paul’s continuous desire to explore motivated him to visit many corners of the world, as he was always researching the next destination.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marion, and their beautiful family: Kimberly and her husband John Edelstein, of West Milford, N.J.; Lauren and her husband Sergio Hurtado of Kinnelon, N.J.. Paul considered his five grandchildren to be his life’s pride, and hope for the future: Jordan, Olivia & Gavin Hurtado, Althea & Arden Edelstein.

Paul will be remembered as a good-hearted, humored, hard-working, quick witted, honorable and generous man who loved his family more than anything. He was always happy to share his love of knowledge and passion for life with anyone.

A mass will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Magnificat RC Church in Kinnelon. Arrangements are entrusted to The Morrison-Etheridge Funeral Home, Butler, N.J.
