Paul Kozay, Sr., 92, of Kinnelon, NJ, passed away on June 27, 2015 after a lenghty illiness. Paul spent the last 10 years living with his daughter and grandchildren in Kinnelon. Prior to that he and his late wife, Alice Kozay, of 56 years owned a home in Clifton where they raised a family. Mr. Kozay is a WWII veteran who served with Honor in the Navy Seabees in the battle of Tarawa and various other Pacific Islands. Stateside he and his company were assigned as extras in the wartime movie with John Wayne "The Fighting Seabees". Mr. Kozay was a past president of the Athenia VFW Post in Clifton and a former Trustee of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin R.O. Church also in Clifton, NJ. He was a past Master of Passaic Lodge 67 F & AM and a member of the Shriners. He worked in Bell Labs in NJ untill his retirement in 1988. Paul is survived by his daughter, Christine Gonska-Kozay of Kinnelon, NJ and her two children, Alexander Gonska and Julianna Gonska; two sons, Kevin J Kozay of Vernon, NJ and Paul R Kozay of Florida as well as a sister Maria of Wayne, NJ. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. A memorial Mass is planed for a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, NJ.
