Paul Weber Columbia, 75 and long time resident of Smoke Rise, New Jersey died Sunday October 19, after a long time battle with Cancer. Paul loved his country. He enlisted in the Marine Corp at the age of 18 and fought in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart. Paul thought of no greater honor and privilege than to be able to serve his country and fight for our freedom.Paul was born in Floral Park, Long Island April 1st 1933, the only child of Edmond Columbia and Teresa Weber Columbia. Paul attended Hofstra University where he played Varsity Lacrosse and met his wife Barbara. Paul worked at Revlon for many years in NYC, where he worked closely with Charles Revson. He frequented Neary's Restaurant in the City where he became very close with the long time owner Jimmy Neary. Paul was an avid reader of both the classics, as well as contemporary famed authors. Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years Barbara Cuneo Columbia, four Sons Paul Weber Columbia Jr., Dr. Richard H Columbia, John J Columbia, Peter Wilson Columbia, Paul is also survived by 6 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in-laws, extended family, and a great many dear friends whom he loved with a fierceness and dedication reserved only for them.Paul will always be remembered for his generosity of spirit, his kindness, his love of life, and love for his family and friends, his humility about everything except for his family and his love for his beautiful wife Barbara, his children and his grandchildren.
