Raymond Vincent Reamer, 92, of Pompton Plains, died on December 8, 2008 at Renaissance Gardens. He was born on October 10, 1916 in Jersey City, the son of Raymond Vincent and Teresa Sullivan Reamer. He was raised in Roselle, and Mauch Chunk, Pa. He was graduated from Abraham Clark High School, Roselle, and Pace Institute, New York City.During his 51 years of employment at IBM Corp., Reamer worked as branch manager in Newark and chief administrator of the World Headquarters in New York City. He later served the company as telecommunications manager in Armonk, N. Y. A member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, he retired in 1987. He was president of the International Communications Association and served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Central Railroad of New Jersey Historical Society. A veteran of World War II he served in the Army Air Corps.Reamer married Frances Geoghan on Thanksgiving Day, November 20, 1941 at Saints Joachim and Anne Church in Queens Village, N. Y. In 1991 he and his wife were affiliated to the Holy Name Province, Order of Friars Minor. During his married years he resided in Roselle, Elizabeth, Westfield, and River Vale, before recently moving to Pompton Plains. While living at Cedar Crest he was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Butler.He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Frances Geoghan Reamer of Pompton Plains, five sons: Raymond V. Reamer, Jr. of Fair Lawn, Rev. William G. Reamer of Plattsburgh, N. Y., Paul A. (Mary Theresa) Reamer of Coxsackie, N. Y., Thomas R. Reamer of Westwood, Rev. Mark G. Reamer, O. F. M. of Raleigh, N. C.: three daughters, Sr. Mary Alice Reamer, R. D. C. of Yonkers, N. Y., Anne R. (Frank) Vinchiarello of Dover Plains, N. Y., and Jean Reamer (Graeme) Keam of Downingtown, Pa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Mary and his daughter-in-law, Helen.Viewing hours will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Ave. Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday 11am at St. Anthony RC Church Butler, NJ . Burial to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Franciscans of Holy Name Province, c/o St. Anthony's Guild 4 Jersey Street East Rutherford, NJ 07073-1012, or Sisters of Divine Compassion Good Counsel Convent 52 North Broadway White Plains, NY 10603, in his memory.
