Richard Fisher

Richard Fisher, age 76, of Bloomingdale, NJ entered eternal rest on April 9, 2018. Mr. Fisher was born in Englewood, NJ the son of the late Edward and the late Blanche (Rice) Fisher. He graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ and enlisted in the United States Army Corps and was a Bridge Section Sergeant. He was honorably discharged to the U.S. Army Reserves for three years.During his life, he was employed by Public Service Electric & Gas Company as a Lineman, New Jersey Bell Telephone as an Installer and was an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic at Bergen County Vocational and Technical High School, Hackensack, NJ before he retired in 1994. He was a member of the Meadowbrook Rifle and Pistol Club, West Milford, NJ.He is survived by his wife of 54 loving years, Joyce (Freeman) Fisher, his son Richard Raymond and wife Marjorie of Moneta, VA his daughter Lorrie McConnell and husband George of Bloomingdale, and his beloved grandchildren.A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 3:00-7:00pm at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A memorial service will be offered between 6:30-7:00 at the funeral home. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
