Richard Guy Kohler

Rich went on to a successful career in project management at Terminal Construction in Wood Ridge, from which he retired after 35 years to join his son James in a new business venture at Divine Energy Solutions in Dover, NJ. Rick married the love of his life, Sharon Patti, on March 8, 1975, and together they raised their two children, James and Danielle, in Carlstadt, Sacramento, CA, and Rockaway before settling in Jefferson, NJ. Rick was a devoted father and family man; he loved spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, renovating his many homes, and soaking up the sun.

His deeply rooted faith in God sustained him throughout his life and especially during his long battle with cancer; he remained hopeful and full of joy even to the end. Richard was predeceased by his parents and older brother, Jerry. He is survived by his devoted wife Sharon of 47 years, his children James Kohler and his wife Heather and Danielle Corn and her husband David, and his 10 grandchildren; Abigail, Nathan, Caleb, Matthew, Benjamin and Zoey Kohler, and Natalie, Charlotte, Evelyn, and Jonathan Corn. Also surviving are Richards sister Donna Ashachik (Allan), brother Michael (Carolyn), and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM, at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ, and Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral and graveside service to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
