Richard P. Funk

Richard P. FunkDick Funk, of Kinnelon, age 84, died June 30 at Chilton Medical Center.He was born in April 1933 in Oak Park, Illinois the son of the late Lester and Gertrude Funk. He graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School and attended local colleges. In 1955 he was drafted into the U. S. Navy and served until August 1957 the year he married Jan (nee Nicoll). They settled in Illinois, and their son Robert was born in 1963 followed by William in 1966. In 1967 his company transferred him to the East Coast. After working as a salesman for other companies, he established RPF Associates, a commercial collection agency, in 1975 and was in operation until 2005.He was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife Jan, his son Robert Funk and daughter-in-law Suzanne Lynch of Florida and his son William of New Jersey.There will be no services and cremation will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to Kinnelon Public Library, 132 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon, NJ 07405 or Kinnelon Volunteer Animal Shelter, 118 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon, NJ 07405 would be appreciated.
