Richard A. Karcher October 16, 1966 - March 1, 2023

Richard “Rick” Karcher age 56 of Butler and formerly of Bloomingdale (Glen Wild Lake) community passed away peacefully March 1, 2023.

Born October 16, 1966 in Pompton Plains, NJ, the son of David Karcher Sr. and the late Jane Karcher (nee Austin). Rick graduated Butler High School and went on to Lincoln Technical Institute to pursue a career in the auto industry. He worked as an auto mechanic for many repair shops most notably for Pritchard Auto in Bloomingdale where he formed many friendships along the way and was well known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor. He was “larger than life”. In his earlier days his hobbies included going to motocross races, golfing, riding his quad and dirt bike. In his spare time, he made extra money by scrapping metal. His passion included maintaining his lawn, working on his vegetable garden, and cooking. He was always being seen working in his garage with the stereo blasting. He enjoyed going to car shows and swap meets in Englishtown and Carlisle, PA searching for parts for his classic muscle red 1968 GTO convertible which was his pride and joy. He was an avid M*A*S*H fan and liked watching old movies.

He loved the simple things in life and lived his life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Rick is survived by his devoted wife of twenty-two loving years Kristine Karcher (De Feo), his loving father David Karcher Sr. and his wife Anne, loving siblings Dave Karcher and Kathleen Karcher. Also surviving are his father and mother in-law John and Donna De Feo, brother in-laws John (Shelly) De Feo and Ken (Alyson) De Feo. He also leaves behind his cousins Billy, Jimmy, Danny Karcher and his dog Hudson. Rick was predeceased by his beloved mother Jane Karcher (2022) and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The final disposition will be private.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
